Elsa is an Entlebucher Sennenhund, Swiss Mountain Cattle Dog. The Entlebucher Sennenhund is the smallest member of the Swiss Mountain Dog family that also includes the Appenzeller , Bernese and the Greater Swiss. The Entlebucher was originally used as a watchdog after being introduced to the Roman nobility by Alexander the Great.
